Outside the Classroom
Put your knowledge to good use
Africana Studies students engage with their studies both inside and outside the classroom — from being an active member in the community to experiencing African culture through hands-on opportunities.

Engaged learning
Take what you learn and apply it outside the classroom, engaging in digital projects and community events, such as Habitat for Humanity construction projects.

Cultural immersion
Take your studies deeper by experiencing hands-on learning. You will have the opportunity to participate in the Model African Union Conference, African Cultural Night, and African Diaspora Day.

Postgraduate opportunities
The skills you learn as an Africana Studies major, including critical reasoning and writing, will serve you well in graduate school.
