Prepare for military service
Mercer University’s Military Science minor prepares you for a successful future in military service. Our Military Science minor courses are open to any Mercer student, and an obligation to the U.S. Army is not required. However, these courses are also taken by ROTC cadets, who participate in a living and learning community and commit to military service. Our program strongly ties into Mercer’s ethics, leadership, and service initiatives. The curriculum is designed to develop disciplined, professional, and responsible students who are willing to learn and serve others.
Our courses involve a number of outside the classroom opportunities including adventure training, battlefield tours and case studies, and volunteering with local organizations such as local food banks. Our Military Science program creates a tight knit group of students committed to serving one another both inside and outside of class.
A minor in Military Science consists 17 hours. See all program requirements and course descriptions in the Mercer University catalog.
