Study Abroad
Mercer’s Biology Department offers multiple study abroad opportunities with courses and opportunities, including a course in Coral Reef Biology. This course features a week-long trip to Belize for students to study the aquatic wildlife of the reef and gain hands-on experience conducting research in the field.
Mercer also offers the Guyana Lesley Abroad Service Semester (GLASS) in partnership with Lesley University. During the program, students spend a semester in Guyana and experience cultural immersion with communal indigenous villagers. Students will experience the close ties between humans and biological diversity, studying tropical human ecology and natural resource management.
