Program Requirements
About the major
The departments of Biology and Psychology collaboratively offer the interdisciplinary major in Neuroscience to allow students to explore the intersection of psychology and biology. Courses in this major require students to explore neuroscience from the cellular, systems, and behavioral levels. The required courses will also foster skills in critical thinking, science writing, research, and oral communication. The Neuroscience major requires 64 credit hours.
Honors in Neuroscience
Students may earn honors by fulfilling the following:
- Discuss the honors option with your advisor during the semester in which you hits 90 credit hours
- Complete your degree with a 3.50 grade point average in Neuroscience and a 3.25 grade point average overall
- Complete at least four hours of approved research with a 3.00 or above,
- Write a research paper of publishable quality
