Study abroad
We provide opportunities for you to advance your education through study abroad semesters and trips. We travel to cities filled with rich history, including Athens, Paris, and Florence. You will discover the philosophical influence on the culture, art, and architecture of each area. These travel opportunities are key to the interdisciplinary curriculum of Philosophy, Politics and Economics and allow you to connect your major to a number of related subject areas. Research opportunities
As you progress as a Philosophy, Politics and Economics major, you have the opportunity to dive deep into a specific topic of interest through faculty-guided research. This intensive study allows you to work one-on-one with a faculty member and present your research to professionals engaged in similar disciplines.
Postgraduate opportunities
Many of our Philosophy, Politics and Economics majors succeed in enrolling in graduate or professional school after leaving Mercer. On average, philosophy majors perform exceptionally well on entrance exams including the LSAT, GRE, GMAT, and MCAT. Law school is a common choice for many of our graduates, but others attend a wide variety of master’s programs including:
- Philosophy
- Mathematics
- Classical studies
- Public administration
- Middle Eastern studies
As a Philosophy, Politics and Economics major, you will be prepared for nearly any career. We have graduates working in a variety of fields including business, law, government administration, education, and more. Our program trains you to think critically, ask tough questions, and dig deep to find meaning and purpose behind human behavior.
