Mercer University’s Biology Department offers multiple majors and minors designed to prepare you for a career in science. Our curriculum features hands-on coursework, laboratory projects, and opportunities to complete undergraduate research while working alongside our expert faculty. Majors and Minors

  • Biology (major and minor) — Biology majors may may pursue a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree and study a wide range of areas such as anatomy, ecology, microbiology, and physiology.
  • Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (major) — The biochemistry and molecular biology program is an interdisciplinary major and taught in conjunction with Mercer’s Chemistry Department. The program focuses on the intersection of biological and chemical concepts and prepares you for a successful career in medicine and research.
  • Neuroscience (major) — The neuroscience major is an interdisciplinary program taught with the Psychology Department. In it, you will explore the science of brain function and human behavior to prepare you to launch a career in research, medicine, and pharmacy.
