Outside the Classroom
Intern in the Community
We want to help you connect what you learn in the classroom to a successful career. One of the most effective and thrilling ways to do this is by interning in the community. One of our supportive professors will guide you toward an internship that is best for you. We have many students interning for the Mercer University Press, Paste Magazine, museums, regional theaters, and more. As an intern, you will gain experience writing in a professional setting, learn how professionals communicate with each other, and be challenged with new tasks. You will thrive as you apply what you’ve been taught into practical and real-world situations.
Be Part of Our Literary Magazine
Our nationally-ranked literary and art magazine, The Dulcimer, needs students just like you as its foundation. Through a detailed strategy filled with creativity and purpose, the student-led magazine will thrive with your help. You can work on the magazine staff, publish your work, learn the layout, meet print deadlines, and more. If you have any inkling of passion for the written word, talk to your professor about being part of the campus literary magazine.
Join Sigma Tau Delta
