My major in psychology, especially my classes in social and forensic psychology, gave me a strong foundation for studying the law and understanding how the people involved in the justice system interact. I enjoyed getting to work hands on with my professors in the research lab doing real-world studies. Now, I feel confident about entering the legal field in part because of the work I did in the psychology department.

Double-majoring in psychology and communication studies helped me decide to pursue a graduate program and then career in counseling. It provided me with a solid foundation, desire and curiosity into mental health and well-being of others. I’ve always wanted to work in a field that helps others. Pursuing these majors started the burning passion that I now have for getting the privilege to walk alongside others in their journey toward healing and recovery.
