Mercer hosts a chapter of Beta Beta Beta, the prestigious National Biological Honors Society. Our Mercer chapter, Beta Omega, was founded in 1954. Student members of Beta Omega serve their department, college, and community through a variety of activities including
- Science demonstrations in schools
- Hosting of seminar speakers
- Sponsoring field trips
We also host a chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society. This society is dedicated to the encouragement and recognition of excellence in preprofessional health studies. Alpha Epsilon Delta also:
- Provides opportunities for intellectual and professional development
- Creates a forum for students with common interests
- Extends a service program to benefit the university community
