Dr. Nathan Glueck
Assistant Professor of Biology
Dr. Nathan Glueck came to the Department of Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Mercer University in 2025. His research and teaching primarily focus on biology at the cellular and molecular level with a specialty in mycology.
Education
- Ph.D., Microbiology, University of Georgia
- B.S., Biology, Louisiana State University
- B.S., Physics, Louisiana State University
Specialty
Cell biology, molecular biology, genetics and medical mycology.
Professional Interests
Dr. Glueck primarily studies the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans. His research focuses on (i) exploring the molecular mechanisms and genetic interactions governing cryptococcal sexual development and pathogenesis and (ii) exploiting Cryptococcus as a model organism to improve our general understanding fungal biology more broadly.
