With a deep passion for the performing arts, Francesca (Frani) Rollins brings professional and academic expertise to the department from across the country. Her creative portfolio spans from Washington, D.C., to Portland, Oregon, and include a diverse range of productions from intimate black box spaces to large-scale outdoor theatrical events. She is dedicated to fostering the next generation of theater professionals, trusting in a student-centered, hands-on teaching approach that is grounded in practice of production and storytelling.

Scenic and lighting design and technology; stage and production management.
Professional Interests
Rollins’s research interests center on the intersection of traditional techniques and emerging technologies in stage production. This includes exploring how advancements in digital tools, sustainable materials, and innovative design approaches can enhance the aesthetic, functional, and ecological aspects of lighting and scenic design. Additionally, she is passionate about examining the evolving role of stage and production management in fostering collaboration, efficiency, and creativity on the craft of storytelling.
Other Interests
Two amazing kids with interests in gymnastics, swimming, and ju-jitsu keep Rollins busy when not in the theater. And summer kayaking is a welcomed change to the hustle of the academic semesters.
